I have been counseling, adults, couples and families for over 20 years. I am licensed as a psychologist in Washington State. I completed my bachelor degree at Smith College in Psychology and Art History. I then finished my doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and I did my internship at the University of Washington Student Counseling Center. My post-doctoral work in Seattle was working with couples and families. I have completed my level three training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and have advanced training in EFT (Emotion Focused Therapy for Couples). I also have advanced training in EMDR and Brainspotting. I am currently an adjunct professor at Seattle University where I supervise Masters students and teach graduate courses. I enjoy supervising post masters and post doctoral counselors who are in the process of getting their hours for licensure. I also have my PSYPACT license and can see clients in PSYPACT states for telehealth. My private practice office is in the Eastlake area of Seattle.
Couple's Counseling
I have a passion for helping struggling couples. I believe that every couple can learn the skills they need to make their relationship better. I have been trained in Gottman Method Therapy and Emotion Focused Therapy and use these therapies when working with couples experiencing challenges with their relationship.
Pre-Marital Therapy
I really enjoy working with couples to do pre-marital counseling. I find that couples who spend the time to learn strong conflict management and communication skills before they are married have stronger and happier marriages.
Supervision
I enjoy supervising post masters and post doctoral counselors who are in the process of getting their hours for licensure. I also supervise counselors who are becoming certified to be supervisors.
College Students
Another area where I have extensive experience is working with college students facing depression and anxiety. My internship was at the University of Washington Student Counseling Center and I have been an adjunct professor at two other universities, so I see the stress that college brings to many students. I believe that every student can learn the coping skills they need to make their college experience better.
Trauma and PTSD
My experience with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy) and Brainspotting have been critical to my work with clients struggling with trauma and PTSD. These breakthrough therapeutic techniques have helped so many that suffer from past events that cause anxiety and fear. I love using EMDR and Brainspotting in conjunction with other therapeutic methods that bring hope and healing to those who have experienced trauma.

Approach to Treatment
I have a warm and collaborative approach, working together with my clients to reach their goals for therapy. Sometimes the goal for therapy is to feel less depressed or anxious. Sometimes the goal is to be happier or to feel like life is more meaningful. And, sometimes the goal is to feel more connected to the people we love. I consider it a privilege to journey with my clients in the pursuit of their goals for a better life and relationships.
